Eligibility
To be eligible to enroll in the Workplace Specialist I training, an individual must be accepted for employment as a workplace specialist teacher in a recognized content area listed on the license by one (1) of the following:
(A) An Indiana school corporation
(B) A cooperating school corporation for career and technical education organized under IC 20-37-1-1.
(C) An accredited education program offered by the department of correction.
Once a teacher has been accepted for employment, the teacher must apply for a Workplace Specialist I license via the Indiana Department of Education LVIS system. If all of the aforementioned has been done, please continue reading.

Thursday, October 6, 2022 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. STRONGLY ENCOURAGED (New and Newer CTE Teacher Workshop)
Friday, October 7, 2022 – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MANDATORY (Indiana Statewide CTE Professional Development Conference)
Saturday, October 8, 2022 – 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. MANDATORY (Indiana Statewide CTE Professional Development Conference)
Attendance at the Indiana ACTE Conference on Friday and Saturday is mandatory for all Workplace Specialist I teachers. Teachers are also STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to attend the Thursday optional New and Newer CTE Teachers Workshop. Teachers should discuss travel arrangements and a substitute teacher with their supervisor and/or CTE Director for the days that they will be attending the conference. The conference is being held at the Indianapolis Marriott East, 7202 E. 21st St, Indianapolis, IN.

Workplace Specialist I Teacher Training Registration Form
REGISTRATION FOR THE 2023-2024 ACADEMIC YEAR WILL OPEN JULY 1 PENDING GWC APPROVAL. Contact Dr. Edward J. Lazaros ejlazaros@bsu.edu or 317-588-8000 with any questions.
Please click the REGISTRATION FORM button below to access the online registration form. Please note that the Workplace Specialist I license is good for two years. If a teacher misses the registration deadline for this year, the teacher can register for the Workplace Specialist I training next July during the second year of the license. Please confirm that the teacher has applied for the Workplace Specialist I license prior to starting the registration process.
